5 Seconds Of Summer
The biggest breakthrough band of 2014, 5 Seconds of Summer will return to Australia for a run of east coast dates in September - October 2016.
The band, who will tour the world in 2016, will close off their global run of dates with three very special shows for their Australian fans in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Tour proudly supported by Qantas.
5SOS first met in the schoolyard aged 16 in Windsor in the Western Suburbs of Sydney. Luke (17), Mikey (18), Calum (18) and Ash (19) were brought together by a mutual love of pop-punk and the adrenaline-fuelled super-rock of turn of the millennium Americana.
They started posting videos on YouTube, and within six months had amassed 50k Facebook fans, 100k Twitter followers and more than 5 million YouTube views. Now, those numbers have skyrocketed, with over 60 million views on YouTube, 5.2 million fans on Facebook, a combined 12 million Twitter followers and more than 1.6 million followers on Instagram.
In 2012, the band self-funded and independently released their debut EP Somewhere New which rocketed straight into the Top 5 of the iTunes chart, and was followed by a sold out national tour.
Fast forward eighteen months and, having spent 2013 selling out shows across the world, the band recently signed an international deal with Capitol Records to release this single and their hotly anticipated forthcoming album.
Come 2014, they've already locked in a spot opening for One Direction on the North American leg of their Where We Are tour, and have also seen a nomination for Nickelodeon Aussies Fave Hot New Talent.
But this is only the start -- expect nothing less than complete mayhem as 5SOS' star continues to rise.
